It was a gorgeous, crisp fall day. A perfect day for a wedding! The sun was shining brightly, ready to shine down on two people R.J. and Linda so ready to embark on their new lives together. This was not just any wedding though, this was a wedding done Texas style!š¤ My son, Christopher (one of the groomsmen), and I made the somewhat long trek from the Dallas area to Cowtown, aka Ft. Worth. We arrived at this great rustic venue called Twisted Rose Texas. It's a new family-run business where you can tell, in everything they have done, they put their hearts and souls into making everything special! Shout out to Margaret, the owner's amazing mother whom I had the best time talking to all day. If only I could do one-tenth of what she is doing when I am her age!
Here are some photos of Twisted Rose Texas, such a very cool place filled with the nicest people!
Some very special touches! Each place setting also had a card for guests to write the couple a message to be opened on their various anniversaries dates that corresponded with the table numbers. What a sweet thing to have as a memory of their special day!
Because I was there early, I had a fun talk with Ashley of char-Cute-rie in Royce City. I š©· charcuterie! It is SO easy to find great keto options and in talking with Ashley I found out she was being very particular with lots of healthy choices because some of the guests had dietary restrictions! I knew I was covered when she told me she even hand-baked her own almond flour crackers that are gluten-free and keto-friendly. Way to go, Ashley! I didn't get the exact recipe but maybe with a little experimentation, I could figure out a reasonable facsimile! She uses almond flour, Ebenezer cheese (I've never heard of it, but Ashley says it melts and bakes well), dried Rosemary, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and water. The crackers were delicious! Here's a peek at Ashley's beautiful charcuterie display!
Have Charcuterie Wagon Will Travel! Ashley's car got stuck in the mud the night before making a delivery and had to be towed. Who knew charcuterie could be so dangerous? She lost a shoe too!
Ashley is hard at work dispensing charcuterie goodness! I managed not to sneak anything when Ashley wasnāt looking! Wanted to though! š³
YUM and so beautiful!
Lots of Keto options! The famous keto almond crackers are in the back!
Here's where to find Ashley on Facebook.
When is this wedding ever going to get the show on the road?š
Me having a great time talking with everyone!
Let the wedding begin!
Christopher and one of the bridesmaids. š©·
The groom waiting for his bride and all the groomsmen. Brandon, the groom's brother was the Best Man! He did a great job!
Here comes the radiant bride on the loving, supportive arm of her father, Tom. She wore a beautiful vintage dress belonging to her grandmother.
Who gives this woman?
The very sweet vows.
Sealed with a kiss! God, please bless this union.
The new Mr. & Mrs! Let the party get started!
Food! I need food! I haven't eaten all day. It's now 6 PM! I was excited to have some of the charcuterie first! I had managed not to sneak any when Ashley wasn't watching!š
Lots of meats, cheeses, cucumbers, and the great almond crackers! There also was another area that had smoked chicken wings and stuffed mushrooms! I forgot to take a photo of them. So goood! I was in keto heaven!
After the appetizers, there was a great BBQ spread with brisket, sausage, ribs, and cole slaw.
I was so excited to have such a great keto meal. The caterer just does it as a hobby for friends, so no contact information for him, but he did an amazing job.
Lots of cowboys! That's the groom's father, Rick, standing in the back right.
Here's where the keto wedding ended, oh no! Actually, it was fine. I wasn't told any of the four cakes were either sugar-free or gluten-free, but maybe? It was OK, I was very happy with all the healthy options I previously had. Having cake wasn't that important to me. Isn't that a great idea though to have four different cakes?
The cake cutting and zero cake smearing, thank goodness! I saw on Inside Edition the other day a woman divorced her husband, after their wedding, because he smeared wedding cake ALL OVER her face! Guys, just simply donāt do it! š²
Matt Wayne and his band were FANTASTIC! I had such a great time listening to them playing throughout dinner. Looks like Matt has a few social media accounts so just Google him.
My handsome son, and his beautiful wife, Aimee.
First dance as a married couple. Very sweet!
A D.J. came out and the dancing got off to a great start!
Navigating through social situations when trying to do keto isn't always easy in a very carby world! But I was so thrilled I was able to have such great healthy options at this special Texas wedding. It was such a beautiful, fun, relaxed day and evening and I was able to return home with my blood sugar firmly intact! You can still have a great time in social situations, but also stay on track, especially at such an amazing wedding! Blessings to R.J. and Linda! š
Wishing you good health and happiness,
