Keto Bronzed Shrimp Tacos

Flavored Pico de Gallo and Avocado Crema

These shrimp tacos were excellent, and I uncovered some actual low-carb “corn” tortillas in my freezer that I’ve had forever. I don’t even remember how I bought them, but I’m including a link below. These tortillas were amazing. I haven’t had any corn in years, so these were very corn-tasting and had the taste and texture of carby corn tortillas, but only 3.5 carbs apiece. It's hard to believe. It’s a personal preference whether to have a little corn or not.

I’ve been doing Virta for over six years, and my personal decision is that if there is something that is generally low carb but has an ingredient or two that is not exactly keto, I will sometimes have a small quantity. This is a VERY occasional thing and of course, testing is always a good idea.


But if you are very strict or a newbie, this might not be advised, but they are so low carb I thought they could be doable for some people. We can have wheat and sugar in small quantities sometimes. You can substitute the corn tortilla with any other low-carb tortilla or wrap you like. These would also be good wrapped with lettuce! 🍤🌮


Here are the instructions and ingredients for the shrimp recipe.



To assemble, take the tortilla of your choice and spread it with avocado crema. You can add shredded lettuce here, but I left it out. Add 3-4 grilled shrimp, then the Pico de Gallo, Cotija, or Queso Fresco cheese sprinkled on top.

The carb count depends on the tortilla used and how much of the other ingredients are used.
