Keto Caramel Sauce

Shared by DeniseM

It may seem odd to have a recipe for caramel sauce when doing low-carb. Caramel is, after all, a mix of sugars heated up. And sugar can be detrimental to our diet.

Because of the creativity of all these keto chefs and cooks, there has become an explosion of recipes using keto-fied caramel!!

Our favorite keto desserts, such as cookies, cakes, and cupcakes, utilize caramel sauce as a filling, a drizzled topping, or part of the frosting. Why not place it on top of your keto ice cream?

Drizzle some keto caramel sauce on some pancakes or keto-friendly nuts of your choosing. And you can mix it up in tea or coffee.

Bacon? Sure, brush your bacon with caramel before placing it into the oven. You'll be in for a good salty snack!

And, our favorite: fat bombs can be made by combining caramel sauce with cream cheese and then freezing for a quick treat.

Which keto sauce should you make?

I've tried several, and of course, I love them all. Here's a quick breakdown:

  • I love this sauce from All Day I Dream About Food. It has seven ingredients (or eight if you want to make it salty). It takes about 15 minutes to make and has less than 2g of carbs per serving. It is SO good and can be kept in a jar in the fridge.

  • With 4 to 5 ingredients (molasses is the optional ingredient) this keto caramel sauce from gnom-gnom is like liquid gold. I only had erythritol (instead of allulose) when I made this, and then I added powdered stevia to blend in with erythritol to lower the carbs. It also takes about 15 minutes and has less than 1g of carbs per serving.

  • And, to see what else is out there, I saw this from The Big Man's World. It has 3 ingredients (or 4 for the salt) and only takes 11 minutes! And it has 2g of carbs per serving.

The possibilities seem to be endless and of course, we'll keep on trying other recipes here on Virtaworks so that we can provide you with an easy journey in your recipe quests!
