What a delicious way to have some broccoli!

 A bowl of mashed broccoli.

I just made something fabulously delicious: mashed broccoli. I cut fresh broccoli into very small pieces and steamed it. When it was tender, I put it into my food processor with three tablespoons of half-and-half (I would have used the cream, but that's what I had) and three tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. I added salt, pepper, and garlic powder and puréed.

Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum?

(The reason it looks like there’s so much is that it's a topping for shepherd's pie. When I made it with mashed cauliflower, I ate too much because it was so good. Mashed broccoli isn't any easier to resist, fear!).
