I made this yummy chaffle for breakfast this morning and I must say it was delicious! I saw someone make it on Instagram, but her name is so long and I’m not sure if it’s her name or another language, or else I would have given her credit, but thanks for the great recipe!
This was the first time I used nutritional yeast in a chaffle, and possibly the combination with the baking powder definitely made a more puffy texture. I got three chaffles instead of two because it expanded so much. It’s not an active yeast, and I think it gives things a cheesy flavor. I really don’t know much about it, but have used it recently in a couple of recipes.
The chaffle was good, and the longer you cook it, the crispier it gets. I tried one with just the cream cheese and Everything Bagel Seasoning, and it was excellent that way. Tasted like a bagel!
So, to make the chaffle, take a cup of shredded mozzarella, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of nutritional yeast and mix it together. I would divide it into three, but the recipe says this makes two chaffles.
When the waffle is done, spread it with cream cheese and Everything Bagel Seasoning. I just did this on one of the chaffles.
Scramble one egg or two. I did two, and it was a little much. I always overstuff!
Next time I’m going to put some jalapeños in the eggs! 🌶️
I took the sliced ham and folded it to fit the chaffle, added two slices of Havarti or any cheese you like, and I warmed that in the microwave. I added some cooked bacon on top of that, again, my need to overstuff! 😳
You can do sliced tomatoes, or avocado would be very good!
Top with the other chaffle, and there you go! I could only eat half. Maybe if I stuffed it less, that would help!
I hope you enjoy this! 🧇 🍳
wow, that looks amazing. I bought a waffle maker this weekend to make chaffles, will try this soon!
