I made these great harissa eggs today and they have a wonderful somewhat spicy smokey flavor. Harissa is a chili paste from Tunisia. I don’t think it’s very spicy, but this could vary from brand to brand. I’ll put the link below for the brand I use. Harissa just adds so much goodness to a recipe!! It says it keeps in the fridge for three months, but I looked at my order history and I have ordered a tube once every two years for about six years! 😳 So the tube I have is two years old and it’s fine! I used just a tiny bit to make these eggs. About 1-2 teaspoons. You can also add it to some stewed tomatoes and garlic and just nestle the eggs in that mixture to cook. That’s very good too, but I usually save the carbs and don’t do the tomatoes. These eggs are excellent served over a piece of buttered and toasted low-carb bread. I’ll put the link below to what I used. It just gives things the best flavor! 🌶️
This is the Harissa brand I used. One tube lasts a long time, there is a little modified corn starch, but not very much and you use a very small amount.
The great low-carb toast is by Keto Bistro on Etsy. I like to leave keto baking to the professionals! 😂 Chef Mars does a great job with all his keto baking and he uses the best, clean ingredients and the carb counts are great. I think I’ve tried every one of his things and they are great. My only issue with his cookies is he uses Erythritol and they have that “cooling effect” that I’m not a fan of. But if that doesn’t bother you they would be great! They all are very low carb except the white chocolate macadamia cookies and why that one is triple the carbs what the others are I’m not sure! Here’s the link to Keto Bistro and I’ll put the nuttrion on the bread below too.🍞 (If something is out of stock just check back soon)
I use this sugar-free Raspberry Jelly by Good Good. Smuckers has sugar-free jelly and you are only using a small amount, but there are questionable ingredients in it. The jelly by Good Good doesn’t have those ingredients. Four carbs per tablespoon. It’s also very easy to make your jam/jelly. Just add a small amount of water to your berries, boil for a few minutes, mash them up, add a little stevia, and presto, you have great tasting jam! 🍓
You get a much better deal with a 2-pack and it lasts a long time! It also comes in several delicious flavors!
