Have you ever had this Honey Walnut Shrimp in an Asian restaurant before Virta? It is to die for! But this recipe gives you all the same flavors without all the carbs. It's a bit of trouble, but if it’s one of your favorites and you miss it, it’s worth it.
I made this recipe in two days and made the candied walnuts the first day (same method; you're just replacing the pecans with walnuts).
I also subbed some coconut flour for the arrowroot powder. That made it four fewer carbs. I added a bit of heavy cream to make a batter, which did well. Make sure the oil is hot so the shrimp will be crispy. They cook very fast, so don’t overcook them. Make everything else as described. You can garnish with sesame seeds and a little chopped green onion. Great served with cauliflower rice!
