I made a chili dog with these keto hot dog buns and covered them with chili. I thought they were delicious. I want keto bread to taste precisely like carby bread, and that’s probably not going to happen with my limited baking skills, but these were good!
I didn’t melt the mozzarella enough either and I should have paid more attention to the dough, but I was tired and mine came out a bit bumpy! I will give them another try!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup mozzarella
2 TBSP sour cream
3/4 cup almond flower
1 tsp xanthan gum
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp nutritional yeast
1 egg
Melt the mozzarella in the microwave for about one minute, and stir in sour cream and the egg. Add all the other ingredients and mix well. Knead the dough and form a ball. Let it rest in the fridge covered for about thirty minutes. Remove from the refrigerator, divide it in half, and place it on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Shape into hot dog bun shapes and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Top your hot dog with your favorite toppings!
