Summer is almost halfway over and Iām shirking my Virtaworks duties by not getting these waffle cones made sooner! But better late than never as they say, so I just thought we needed a keto waffle cone for our keto ice cream! š¦These turned out amazing and I added an extra special touch by dipping them in chocolate and nuts and that just put them over the top! This recipe was supposed to make six, but I only got four, so maybe my batter needed to be a little thinner.š¤·āāļø I used a Proctor Silex Waffle Cone Maker (see link below) and it did an outstanding job. I did hold it down for a minute or two as the recipe suggested to get the cone as thin as possible. I then cooked it for about six minutes. I think next time I might experiment a little longer, just to get them as crispy as possible. Iām also going to use this maker with a couple of savory ideas, so hopefully, it will be good for making more things than just waffle cones. This was just a fun thing, I always bought ice cream in waffle cones in my previous carby life and missed them so this was a great treat! š
I used Lilyās Salted Caramel Chips plus chopped pecans to dip them in. The carb count is going to depend on a lot of variable factors, like how much batter, how much ice cream, how much chocolate, and how many chopped nuts are used. Sometimes itās hard to be as precise as we would like. But based on my not-so-exacting calculations I would say four carbs for the cone per the recipe, then another 4 to 5 carbs for the chocolate and nuts, and then however much ice cream you like. You could cut carbs, by putting just a tiny rim of chocolate and nuts or leave that off completely. Make some mini cones, which I think would work well, Make your ice cream instead of using store-bought! So several ways to make this doable and probably an occasional treat! šš¼
Here is the link to the nifty Waffle Cone Maker. It comes with the cone shaper to form the cone and it also comes with a waffle cone bowl shaper for sundaes and other things! š§
This is a great machine!
