Keto Buns

Shared by DeniseM

Who says we can’t have bread? I was needing a hamburger bun and was just going to buy some, but they were all very carby with questionable ingredients so I decided to try this recipe by The Big Man’s World. The author says when he serves these buns, everyone thinks they are carby rolls. I think he might hang around some very dumb people! Ha! Just kidding, but these are very apparently keto to me, but that isn’t bad, they are good, just not light and fluffy like carby bread. I can see how maybe, just maybe people might not realize they are I toasted one roll and added som3 natural peanut butter and Sugarfree jam. Loved that!. I made 1.5 times the recipe just to experiment a bit. I made four hamburger buns, two hot dog rolls, 5 mini slider buns, a blueberry hand pie, and a partridge in a pear tree! The hand pie was easy. I just rolled out the dough, added some blueberries simmered with a little stevia, folded the dough over, and crimped it with a fork. I did have to spread some more almond flour on the counter to prevent it from sticking. I only made one, but next time I would add some granular low-carb sweetener on top before baking to make the dough a little sweeter. It was very good, like the other rolls, and was very easy to make!

Don’t they look so pretty? (That’s me at 2yo with my precious grandmother in the photo. I loved her so much! 💕) Also my amazing son, Christopher in his football uniform!♥️

Here are just a few photos to show the steps used to make the very easy rolls. 😊

I love that the dough was made in a food processor! Made it so easy! (That’s my mom and aunt with their freshly curled hair in the black frame. I love that photo! 🥰)

Next step spread some almond flour and knead the dough for a few minutes.

Form into the shapes you prefer. Brush on egg wash and any sesame seeds. That’s the hand pie on the right.

Bake and let cool!

Here’s the hand pie/pop tart! I would definitely make these again, but add more filling. I only had about a tablespoon. Also, sprinkle the top with some sweetener. Ooooo or pink icing and sprinkles like a Pop Tart! 😳
