Keto Cheesy Crab Rangoon🥡🥢

Shared by DeniseM

I remember always wanting to order yummy Crab Rangoon as an appetizer any time I ordered Chinese take out. So crunchy and delicious, but when I started eating keto, Crab Rangoon were no longer an option! Oh no! Enter Cheesy Keto Crab Rangoon, a dish that's crispy, cheesy, and filled with that irresistible crab mixture, minus the carbs. I saw this recipe on https://www.officiallyglutenfree.com/cheesy-keto-crab-rangoons/#recipe https://www.officiallyglutenfree.com/cheesy-keto-crab-rangoons/#recipe I just had to give a keto Crab Rangoon recipe a try! And they turned out so good!

They were so creamy and flavorful! Instead of the traditional won ton wrapper, slices of mozzarella cheese are substituted. The cheese works surprisingly well as a low carb substitute. I’ve made keto ravioli using provolone cheese as the dough and it’s so good and really gives you a pasta feel. Provolone can be used with this recipe too if you prefer, but the mozzarella gets nice and crispy and holds together well. They make a great low carb snack or appetizer.

So fear not! With a few tweaks, you can enjoy the same delicious flavors while keeping it low-carb and keto-friendly.

Here’s what you’ll need to make this delicious keto version:

1 Pkg. 8oz Cream Cheese

2 Cans of Crab

1/2 Cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

3 finely chopped green onion

1/2 Tsp Finely Minced Garlic

1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder

1/2 Tsp Onion Powder

Dash of Salt and Pepper

18 Mozzarella Cheese Slices

Place all your ingredients in a bowl

Mix thoroughly

Place the mozzarella slices on a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Bake until slightly bubbly

Then place a couple of tablespoons of crab mixture on each mozzarella slice

and assemble the Crab Rangoon

Once the cheese crisps have cooled slightly but are still pliable, spoon a small amount of the crab filling into the center of each one. Fold the cheese crisp over to create a little pocket, similar to a traditional Crab Rangoon. The cheese will harden as it cools, holding the filling in place.

Then fold to form a triangle. place back in the oven for a few minutes so they will seal closed

Bake for just a few more minutes to seal and are slightly browned.

Serve these cheesy keto crab rangoons warm, either as-is or with a low-carb dipping sauce like sugar-free sweet chili sauce or a dash of soy sauce. I just added some sriracha to some soy sauce. They make a great snack, appetizer, or even a main dish when paired with a light salad or steamed vegetables.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Low in Carbs: Each keto crab rangoon has only a fraction of the carbs you'd find in the traditional version, making it perfect for those on a strict keto or low-carb diet.

  • High in Healthy Fats: Thanks to the cream cheese and crispy cheese shell, this dish is rich in fats, helping you stay in ketosis and feel full longer.

  • Quick and Easy: With minimal ingredients and a simple assembly process, you can whip up these crab rangoons in less than 30 minutes.

  • Customizable: You can switch up the filling by adding more spices, using different types of cheese, or swapping the crab for shrimp or other seafood.

Keto-Friendly Dipping Sauces and Garnish

To elevate your cheesy keto crab rangoon, try pairing them with one of these low-carb dipping sauces:

  • Spicy Mayo: Mix mayonnaise, sriracha, and a splash of lime juice.
