I was having my son and his wife over to swim and for lunch, and I wanted to serve a nice refreshing frozen drink by the pool. I liked this frozen mint mojito, but it called for simple syrup! That’s nothing but sugar! What do you do to keep the drink sugar-free?
I found this easy sugar-free syrup recipe by Big Man’s World. I love his recipes! I did use granular allulose, and there is great debate on whether to count the carbs with allulose. I count the carbs on EVERYTHING, except I don’t worry about allulose. Number one, our bodies don’t metabolize it, so there is no impact on blood sugar. Number two, and this is just what I have personally observed, is my blood sugar goes down sometimes when consuming a lot of allulose! It’s a miracle sweetener! So check with your coach if you are unsure about what to do. This is just my personal opinion. Simple syrup can be used in cocktails and beverages like tea and lemonade. It is also great in coffee! 🍹🍋☕️
