I thought this was an interesting article on a couple of new methods being developed for glucose testing that don’t involve finger sticks! Hooray!🎉 I really don’t like inflicting pain on myself daily. I wear a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) but have found the one I use to be fairly inaccurate a good percentage of the time. However, it gives me a good idea of how I react to certain foods, and I like that very much. I wish I could depend on the accuracy more. I use the less expensive Freestyle Libre, so it’s definitely possible a higher-end CGM would be more accurate. I also have a friend who says hers is accurate, so maybe I’m doing something wrong!
One of the new technologies on the horizon is a meter that measures glucose AND ketones with breath! Now, that’s what we need right there. The other would measure glucose with a finger touch. I’m down for that one too.
And speaking of pain. 😃 These lancets I use have definitely decreased the pain from a usual lancing device. They are one-use, and I throw them away; they don’t make it pain-free, but I don’t cringe as much! Ha!
I hope these help you as much as they have helped me. Come on, breath meter, hurry! 😊

How do I get glucose strips, ketones strips and other supplies for the virta monitor. I am no longer in the virta program but follow their plan.
I love the Pip lancets!! So much nicer on my fingers. I was using a CGM (Dexcom G6 and G7) but they were wildly all over the place for the first couple of days which isn’t good when they only last 10!
