Wake Up, Shirataki! There’s a new noodle in town made of something very unexpected—and it’s not cauliflower! Are you ready for this? It’s made from egg whites, and that’s about it!

Several months ago, I saw the homemade version of this new kind of noodle, but using mainly egg yolk powder. It looked a little complicated and required some strange chemical ingredients to make the noodles. I did not do well in chemistry, or any science class, for that matter, in high school. I was very happy with my shirataki noodles! But then I saw a Keto Twins YouTube video on these new noodles, and they seemed very excited about them, so I had to try them! 🍜

Here’s a photo of the Noodle Revolution packaging. I think the quantity of noodles in each bag is not that high. Only 2/3 of a cup! I paid $4.59 per bag on Amazon. There are two noodle shapes: Vermicelli is a very fine angel hair type pasta, and ramen is most like spaghetti. The fantastic thing is less than 1 g of carbs for 2/3 of a cup bag and 10 g of protein! I actually liked both shapes. The Keto Twins had a split vote on the shape they preferred. If I had to pick just one, I would probably choose the Ramen because it just had more substance.

These noodles were very carby pasta-like, though. I think both shapes could fool some people. The only cons I see on both shapes is they are not quite Al Dente. That is my pasta pet peeve. The pasta has to be Al Dente. They weren’t exactly mushy, but it was close and for that reason, the small amount, and the cost I’m not sure I would buy them again or not? The taste was good, but not much of a distinctive taste—just a vehicle for the sauce you put on them, plus a little added texture.

Here are my two test bowls, I just added some Rao’s marinara and a little Parmesan cheese.🍝

2 bowls of keto pasta, Vermicelli is on the left, and Ramen is on the right.

Vermicelli is on the left, and Ramen is on the right. 😊 Both were very good.

These noodles have been so popular they sometimes are sold out on Amazon, but here is the link to check.

And you can also purchase them on the company website.

Unfortunately, at the time this post is written, they are limiting quantities to one 2 pack of noodles for $7.99 and are charging $3.99 to ship the two bags! 😱(But hopefully this will change when things calm down about them!)

I’m thinking of trying the egg yolk powder noodles the Keto Twins make in the video below. i think the egg white noodles are made similarly. The Keto Twins gave a big thumbs up to these, and I think they would be less expensive. Hopefully! 👍🏼

Here is the Highfalutin' Low Carb guy who makes them, too! But this video includes three noodle versions. One with egg yolk powder, one with actual egg yolks and one noodle recipe made from canned chicken! 😳 Which one do you think won? Watch and find out. 😊

And from the actual creator of these amazing noodles, Ann with KetoAsianFlavors, here is her complete playlist on YouTube on how to make all kinds of noodles, including lasagna! 😲

Healthy Ambitions is making these lasagna noodles, too! These noodles have gone viral, and that’s for sure!

Well these are all the latest trends in keto noodles, does this blog post make you want to try some? I think I’m going to not be afraid and make all my past science teachers proud with my new found molecular gastronomy knowledge and make my own noodles with the sciency ingredients and see what happens! I’ll definitely update this post when I do! 👍🏼🍝

Happy Noodling!🍛
