Pesto Alfredo

I had an overabundance of basil in my garden last summer and I thought of making some pesto and oh my heavens it turned out great! I made this spicy version. I didn’t have chili oil, but just subbed some red pepper flakes. I also used some roasted pine nuts and roasted walnuts. You can do so many things with pesto! Top any protein with it and it makes things taste so herby and fresh! I added pesto to the Alfredo sauce recipe that’s here on virtaworks and it was just so yummy! You can also just buy a jar of pesto, but it’s so fun to make your own!
