When the weather starts getting warmer, I crave a delicious and refreshing sangria with all my favorite summer fruits. However, since I am following a low-carb lifestyle, I wondered how I could prepare this drink to fit my current diet. So, I searched on Google and found a recipe from Sweet as Honey. I started with their recipe and then adapted it to suit my preferred taste.
KETO SANGRIA
The ingredients I settled with:
1 bottle Tempranillo (750ml/25oz)
⅓ cup Brandy
4 oz fresh raspberries (the clear pack found in produce)
One small lime-quartered
Two cans of sugar-free Orange soda (I used Zevia)
One can of sugar-free Lemon-lime soda (I used Zevia)
One can of lemon sparkling water
½ teaspoon Orange Stevia drops
Mix it all up and place it in the refrigerator to chill for 2 hours. Serve on ice.
Of course, you can change it up to include blueberries, strawberries, or blackberries or double up on the same fruit. That is what is so fun about Sangria: you can make it to your taste. And, even sub in an N/A red wine or a tasty sugar-free grape or cherry cola if you like. Just remember to track all the ingredients.
