Itās almost Valentineās Day and what a sweet holiday to celebrate with the ones we love! I always thought it was just a made-up holiday by the retail and greeting card industries but apparently, in the year 269AD, it originated as a Christian feast dayĀ honoring a martyrĀ named Valentine,Ā and through later folk traditions, it has also become a significant cultural, religious and commercial celebration of romanceĀ and love in many regions of the world.

Here is an article on 30 fun facts about Valentineās Day! š
So I have always loved celebrating holidays, but I think itās even more important to celebrate in other ways, besides food, since my ketogenic diet changed my life! Food will always be important, but I think celebrating in other ways and adding some simple decorations makes it more festive! (See all the yummy Valentine's recipes here on Virtaworks. š)
Back to the decor! This is just an inexpensive way to show a little love! š
Iām late to the tired tray party, but since getting one for my birthday a few years ago, I have so much fun with it and I think everyone enjoys the decorations for each holiday at the kitchen table or on a kitchen island. I prefer just a two-tiered tray, but if you have room for three tiers they have those too!
I like to go around the house and find greenery or flowers. The flowers I used were leftovers from my sonās wedding rehearsal luncheon, but Iāll put a link to them. I love to reuse things, so Iāve used them at Easter and for Motherās Day! I try to do everything as inexpensive as possible!
Hereās my Valentine's decor! I think it turned out cute. For the Valentine's set, I only used a few of the things and added floral accents instead.

This great 15-piece set (I didnāt use all the pieces) tiered tray came with a set of the tiniest fairy lights!
I love this two-tiered tray my son bought for me! I like the rustic farmhouse look!
