I love using sauces to enhance the flavors of my meals. I have made sauces with wine before, but I recently tried one with whiskey, and it was amazing! However, I must warn you to turn off the stove burner before adding the whiskey as it can ignite. To give my sauce an extra kick, I sautéed some chopped jalapeños along with the onions. I also used a small amount of xanthan gum to thicken the sauce, but be careful not to add too much at once as a little bit goes a long way. Lastly, I added a seasoning salt called One and Done to give it a unique taste. I served this sauce with rib-eye steak and it was delicious, but it would also be great on chicken or pork.
